Arsenal are reportedly ahead of rival Premier League suitors for the 19-year-old Norwegian, though no formal bid has been confirmed and the story rests on a single UK paper roundup.
Arsenal have emerged as the leading club in the chase for RB Leipzig's Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa, according to a UK paper talk roundup circulated on Sunday. The 19-year-old, who moved to Leipzig from Club Brugge in January 2024, has attracted significant Premier League interest after a strong start to his Bundesliga career, with the roundup placing Arsenal ahead of rival suitors.
The report is explicit that no formal bid has been confirmed. No transfer fee, contract length, or personal terms have been disclosed, and there is no on-the-record comment from Arsenal, Leipzig, or Nusa's camp in the public write-up.
Nusa's profile fits the type of wide attacker Mikel Arteta has shown a preference for. He operates primarily from the right, cuts inside onto his stronger left foot, and offers the pace and direct running that have defined Arsenal's wide play in recent seasons. Since moving to Germany in January, he has featured regularly for Leipzig, with the Bundesliga presenting a step up in weekly competitive intensity from the Belgian Pro League he left mid-season. The roundup positions the potential signing as further depth for Arteta's attack ahead of the next transfer window.
For Arsenal, the timing aligns with active mapping of the wide positions. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard remain under contract, but the depth chart behind Bukayo Saka on the right has been a recurring question through the current campaign. A left-footed right winger is a profile the club have not held in the squad.
The interest is positioned as a summer-window story. Arsenal, like most of their Premier League peers, are understood to be running parallel tracks on several wide targets as recruitment departments work through the early stages of a window. Nusa sits inside that process; he is not the only candidate, and the roundup makes no claim that he is the only name on the list.
For Leipzig, the calculation is straightforward. They signed Nusa in January and have seen his trajectory continue upward. The German club are under no pressure to sell, and any Premier League approach would have to clear a fee the Bundesliga side deems acceptable. That bar, given the club's January outlay and Nusa's subsequent form, is unlikely to be a low one.
What the roundup does not do is name the rival suitors. The Premier League interest is described in aggregate, leaving the bidding picture undefined beyond Arsenal's reported position at the front of the queue. Clubs in the chasing pack, if there is one, remain unnamed in the public write-up, as are the headline figures any side would have to weigh up before lodging an approach.
The story remains a reported one. A single UK paper roundup is one report, not two independent confirmations, however widely the column was syndicated. Until a bid is lodged, an agreement reached, or a club statement issued, this is best read as a signal of intent rather than a deal in progress. The gap between a paper-talk leader and a buyer with a number on the table is rarely a short one, and the roundup's hedging on the next transfer window is consistent with that.
